Congratulations to all the winners. Diaries Apologies for the fact that these were not available prior to Christmas. This was due to circumstances beyond our control. They are now in the process of being delivered to all those who ordered them – if you have not yet paid for your order, we would appreciate if you would do so as soon as possible. Thank you to everyone who supported this P.T.A. initiative. If you have not yet got a diary or would like more copies, there are a limited number still available – just contact the Office or a member of the P.T.A. Committee. Price €10 each. Thanks to Janice and the PTA Committee for all their hard work and to Shirley Britz for the art work design and lay out. Christmas Cards Thank you to all those who bought Christmas Cards – I think you will all agree that this was an excellent fund raising venture. Thanks again to Shirley for designing/laying out these cards in such a professional manner. We have a limited number of cards left over which we intend to sell next year. Thanks again to the P.T.A. Committee for their time and efforts. Mobile Phones We still need your old mobile phones urgently so if anyone received a new one as a Christmas present, please think of us and send in the one no longer needed. Games Games restarts this week. Notes have already been sent out. Please remember that the gates remain closed until games conclude at 3.30 p.m. If you arrive earlier, please park in St. Anne's School or St. Anne's Church and walk in. Please do not turn in at the gates and sit waiting for them to open as this blocks not only the sole emergency access to the school but also causes traffic chaos on Stonebridge Road This also applies to parents/minders collecting children from the Afterschool facility.
Walking Bus Congratulations to all our Walking Bus pupils and particularly to those who walk regularly and have been rewarded with attendance prizes. The Seaview Bus was the best supported route last term and there was a small number of children who walked regularly on the Corbawn route. However in the main, this latter route was not well attended and it would be wonderful to see numbers boosted on it this term. We have been unable to run the Cherrington route this academic year, due to lack of leaders and again it would be wonderful to be able to reinstate this. I would urge children to walk every day and not just on the days when their parents are leaders. Christmas Service/Infant Play Many thanks to 6th Class for co-ordinating the Church Service at Christmas which was a wonderful celebration of the Christmas story. The Orchestra made a very welcome addition to the service, thank you to all our muscians and to Daithí Mac Aodhagáin, its leader. As always the singing of the Choir was beautiful so thanks to all our choristers and to Mrs Lewis for all her continuing work with this group. The Infant Play was held on the day of the Service, and was a great success. A huge thank you to the Junior and Senior Infant children, to the 6th Class pupils and the parents who helped out and particularly to Ms. Fox and Mrs Crammond for all their hard work in preparing and putting on the play. One of our Senior Infant parents has kindly agreed to copy the play on to DVDs and a note has gone home to Senior and Junior Infant parents in this regard. December Handwriting Competition Well done to all the children for making such a huge effort with their handwriting. In particular congratulations to our winners and most improved: Best
