The school has been involved in the Green Schools for 10 years. There are only three Schools in Ireland that have FIVE flags, Rathmichael being one of them. We have just had our fifth flag awarded to us for transport. The raising of the Fifth flag is on the 25th of April 2008 by the minister of transport,Noel Dempsey and the chairperson of An Taisce, Mairéad Mehigan. The other four flags were for topics such as water,recycling and waste. The school was the first school to have a walking bus.
