|
Rathmichael Parish National School is located in Shankill, South County
Dublin. It is a 12 teacher-school, with a Principal, 8 mainstream class teachers
and 3 resource teachers. We have 2 special needs assistants, a school secretary
and a school caretaker. The school was established in 1825 and was originally
located on the site of the Silver Tassie. The current site was given to the
parish by Sir Charles William Compton Domville in 1891. In 1892, the school
was completed and dedicated to the Rev. Edward Burton, the first Rector of
Rathmichael Church who had died in 1890. The school's patron is the Church of
Ireland Bishop of Dublin and Glendalough.
